Universal Studios Singapore – Far Far Away & Madagascar

After watching the WaterWorld, we proceeded to Far Far Away land which was located adjacent to WaterWorld.
Far Far Away land is home to the characters from Shrek. With the fairy tale theme, you can expect this section of the park to be have the grandeur of the palaces and the magic of the fantasy characters.

This is my favourite structure in the whole park as it leaves me with a gleeful feeling everytime I look at it. Probably cos it always looks so perfect with their flags “flying” in the wind.

We were held in a holding area (see above pic) which we were briefed was the deep dark dungeons of Lord Farquaad. For those who have not watched a single Shrek movies, there will be a short video clip with the summary of the story so that one would not be left feeling confused about what’s happening.
This 4D show lasted slightly under 10mins but it’s definitely an experience to see, hear, and actually feel the action right from my seat!

We didn’t take any other rides in Far Far Away as the other rides were more for the much younger crowd, with the mini roller coaster and mini Ferris wheel.

In case you have lost your bearings, here is the map of USS again. From WaterWorld to Far Far Away, in the same anti-clockwise direction, we proceeded to Madagascar.

Stepping out of the grand gates of Far Far Away, wander into the tropical jungle filled with its flora and fauna.

And along the sidewalks, we saw the cast of Madagascar! They look really like that of the movie. I must say that it’s a tough job being in the costume and being all lively and active in our local weather. But they did a great job cheering up all the adults and kids alike.

There are two rides available here in Madagascar, one is King Julian’s Party Go Round, which essentially is a Merry Go Round/ Carousel and another attraction Crates Adventure, opening in Mid 2010 only. There are a two eateries here but we didn’t eat anything from here though the food looked rather appetising being Asian influenced.
